Where to Get Lost in the City of Perth
As you continue on The Local Trail in WA to the city of Perth, you’ll cross over the Swan River and into the heart of the CBD. Spend two nights in the center of it all and enjoy everything this lively city has to offer.
Day 1
Downtown Perth WA
Explore the city, and we mean really explore. Take a stroll through Kings Park and get back to nature, jump onto a river cruise along the Swan River, visit Barrack Square and take a look at The Bell Tower, a touchstone for Australian and international tourists. Book a table in any of Perth’s premier restaurants such as Balthazar and Madalena’s to see what all the fuss over Western Australia’s dining experience is about. Be sure to wander around Fremantle with hip bars, cafes and shops, plus a great market full of tasty treats and funky souvenirs.
Day 2
Cottesloe Beach, Perth WA
If you’re looking for something more slow-paced, head towards the coastline. Visit Cottesloe or Scarborough Beach, two shorelines famous for white sand and crystal clear water. Just make sure you look for the flags first.
Or, step outside of the city centre, into the Swan Valley and spend the day at more of Western Australia’s best wineries. We recommend booking a bus tour, that way one too many Pinots won’t leave you stranded, and will ensure you’re delivered safely back to base.
Top it off with Nightcap!
After two full days exploring Perth and the surroundings, we can bet you’ll be exhausted. Our Nightcap accommodation provides a retreat to relax in, whether that be by putting your feet up in your room, or enjoying a drink in our beer garden. Either way, you’ll be well rested and prepared for the final leg of your journey.
Get ready for a drive - we’re heading north, back to the sea.
