What You Can’t Miss on a Day Trip to the Adelaide Hills
Today on The Local Trail in South Australia, we’ll take you a bit farther afield to the Adelaide Hills. Even the name sounds luxurious.
Mt Lofty Botanic Garden, Crafters SA
Start your day getting back to nature at Mt Lofty Botanic Garden. It is gorgeous, serene and perfect for a morning stroll. Take your time, listen to the birds, smell the flowers and experience the beauty that surrounds.
Next up, have a wander through the Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary and immerse yourself in native Australian animals that are fully protected from pests and introduced species. The Sanctuary offers visitors an experience to see what life would be like without non-native animals; an environment that is now a foreign concept to us (and them).
After spending time with your furry friends, swing through the adorable German town of Hahndorf. Park your car and wander along the streets, stopping into cute shops selling unique gifts and trinkets. If you’re feeling peckish, grab a snack from one of the food shops or German restaurants to hold you over until dinner time. You’ll feel like you’ve travelled thousands of kilometres, or perhaps back in time?
Adelaide Hills Wineries
As you drive through the Adelaide Hills, don’t be afraid to pop into a winery to see what they’re pouring. It will give you some great guidance and insight into what to order with your dinner tonight.
Speaking of dinner, it must be time to head back to your hotel for the night. We’ve got two more Nightcap Hotels for you to choose from on this fine evening: Playford Tavern or Rose & Crown Hotel. They’re both a bit farther out of the Adelaide CBD, but we thought after a day of driving in the hills, it would be best to take you back to a quieter part of town. We’re sure you’ve picked up the trend so far, but just in case... no matter which property you choose, you’ll be greeted with friendly faces serving up hearty meals and tasty drinks. Treat yourself tonight, and toast to the good times away from the daily grind.
Top it off with Nightcap!
After you’ve polished off your scrumptious dinner, make your way into your comfortable accommodation for the night, with (you guessed it) a King Koil bed, private ensuite bathroom and all the mod cons you’d expect from our fresh and modern hotel rooms.
