Treat Yourself to a Lazy Beach Day
It wouldn’t be a proper holiday without a day at the beach. Luckily, greater Adelaide offers a number of sandy havens for you to choose from, and The Local Trail in South Australia highlights the best.
Glenelg Beach, Adelaide SA
Glenelg is closest to the CBD, so naturally the most bustling of the beaches nearby. You can walk along the foreshore, check out boutique shops and enjoy some quality people watching. Throw down the towel and soak up the sunshine while spotting dolphins cruising in the water.
Henley Beach is next up the line and offers a sprawling stretch of sand perfect for lazing the day away. There are a number of restaurants to fuel up and re-hydrate. Like Glenelg, this is a great spot to post up, slip-slop-slap and bask in the sunshine while listening to the waves lap up on the shore.
Sunset by the Beach
If you’re after a bit more excitement by the water, head to Semaphore Beach. In addition to the beautiful sandy beach, there’s plenty of fun in the sun with a waterslide, mini golf and ferris wheel as part of the lively foreshore. After a tough day lounging by the beach, treat yourself to a spa treatment or massage. Go on, you’ve earned it!
Top it off with Nightcap!
Regardless of your beach decision for the day (one, or all three), we’ve got a Nightcap Hotel with accommodation near the beach for you. Watermark Hotel is located in Glenelg, and Exeter Hotel is farther north in Semaphore. Both come standard with divinely comfortable beds in fresh and modern rooms, hearty pub grub and great drinks in the on-site Bistro & Bar, plus fun and friendly service with a smile. You’ll feel right at home in our Nightcap Hotels, so don’t stress over the decision - they’re both great and ready to welcome you.
After a good feed and a nightcap, tuck yourself in - we’re taking you out of the city tomorrow (but not too far, don’t worry).
