Top 6 Places For A Romantic Getaway This Valentine’s Day

It happens every year: just when you’ve recovered from NYE festivities, Valentine’s Day is here! If you’re looking for something different to do this Val Day, why not take an extra day (or 2) off work for a romantic getaway with your special someone? We’ve narrowed down some of our favourite places to visit to celebrate Valentine's Day and all the love that comes with it.

Gold Coast

Leave your judgments of family holidays and schoolies behind, Gold Coast is one of the most romantic places to get away. Hop on a cruise, go out for a night of dancing, share a jet ski (or get your own), head to the drive-in or explore Lamington National Park.

There are so many great restaurants to choose from, and for accommodation be sure to check out Mermaid Waters Hotel by Nightcap Plus. It’s 1km from the beachfront and has a lovely swimming pool and tropical gardens. Go on, treat yourself to a spa room!

Busselton WA

Pristine beaches, wineries, delicious food - does it get more romantic than that? Head to Busselton for a romantic getaway that will make you feel a million miles from home. Whether it’s a picnic on the beach, wandering through Tuart Forest NP, spending a day in Margaret River or visiting the historical sites in Busso, there’s romance in every pocket of this region.

Spend a few days at Nightcap at Ship Inn. With self contained units, a refreshing swimming pool and friendly pub, you’ll feel right at home. Warning: you may never want to leave.

Yarra Valley VIC

At the gateway to the Yarra Valley lies Nightcap at York on Lilydale. The sprawling gardens, swimming pool and comfortable rooms, will make you feel relaxed right from the word “go”. The Yarra Valley produces some of the best cool climate wines, and with so many cellar doors in the area you’ll be spoiled for choice. Spend your days sipping wine and end them with a hearty pub meal at the York Collective after. If you really want to make an impression, book a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Yarra Valley - you’ll definitely get brownie points for that one!

Tasmania

We wish we could narrow it down, but the truth is that all of Tassie offers romance in the most natural and genuine way. From bushwalks to wineries, beaches to farmers markets, you can take a trip to Tassie at your own pace and enjoy every moment of it with the one you love.

We’ve got you covered all over the state, with Gateway Hotel by Nightcap Plus in Devonport, Nightcap at Riverside Hotel in Launceston and Nightcap at Carlyle Hotel in Hobart. Stay at one or all, and explore everything there is to see in Tassie.

Northern Beaches NSW

If you’re chasing the sand and sun, head to Sydney’s northern beaches. Just 1 hour’s drive from the city, you’ll feel miles away from the hustle and bustle without spending ages in the car. Spend your days kayaking, whale watching or lazing on the beach. When it’s time for a break from the sun, head to the craft breweries, bars and restaurants dotted around the area, all waiting to greet you with tasty morsels.

In the lovely town of Narrabeen you’ll find Narrabeen Sands Hotel by Nightcap Plus with large, comfortable and romantic rooms that won’t break the bank.

We understand that not everyone likes being a beach bum. For those after a greener getaway, look no further than the Blue Mountains. They’re big, majestic and quite honestly breathtaking. It’s not just about the Three Sisters, either. There are plenty of activities for the keen beans and leisurely attractions for those after a more laid back holiday. There truly is something for everyone.

At the foothills of the Blue mountains you’ll find Nightcap at Blue Cattle Dog Hotel in St Clair, offering modern and affordable accommodation with a great pub next door.
