How to Spend a Long Weekend in Adelaide on a Budget
Whether you’re heading to Adelaide for the Easter long weekend, Anzac Day long weekend or live in the city and just need a little getaway (even if only for a day), we’ve narrowed down our favourite spots to visit when visiting Adelaide on a budget.
City Centre
Ramsgate Hotel, Henley Beach
Adelaide is such an easy city to explore, and you can take it all in without spending a cent (except on delicious food and drinks, of course).
Wander around the food stalls at Adelaide Central Market. If the weather is nice, pick up supplies for a picnic and head to the Botanic Gardens of South Australia for some fun in the sun.
Just next to the Botanic Gardens is the National Wine Centre of Australia, offering history and education of Australian wine along with over 100 different wines available for tasting.
Check out the Jam Factory with a glass blowing studio where you can watch artists live at work, view the latest exhibitions and peruse the on-site shop.

Adelaide Hills
Everyone loves a road trip, and the Adelaide Hills delivers every time. Cleland National Park is a haven for nature-lovers. Melba’s Chocolates is a favourite for kids of all ages. The town of Stirling offers great boutique shops to peruse, and the village of Hahndorf transports you to Germany with its traditional food, trinkets and shops.

Port Adelaide
The historic maritime town of Port Adelaide is slowly becoming a destination of its own. With colourful street art, museums, hip new restaurants, bars and a lively culture to match, there’s plenty to see and do in the area. Check out Fishermen’s Wharf Market, Jackalope Studio Gallery, Pirate Life Brewery or see if you can spot dolphins in the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary.
