Get the Most of Rising Festival When You Stay in Melbourne This Winter

This winter, Melbourne’s long awaited Rising Festival is on. Here’s how to make the most of your Rising experience when you stay over in Melbourne. Let’s go!

A herculean project that was three years in the making, it will showcase art, music, live performances and more this June (1 - 12). The festival is new for Melbourne, and no doubt will be one of many in the city’s thriving cultural arts scene. Rising was originally greenlighted for 2020, but due to the pandemic was rescheduled to 2022.

Festival goers can expect to be immersed in unique installations, food events, visual art, live music and entertainment - there will be something for everyone. On offer will be 225 events, with 801 local and international artists.

The festival will take place around Melbourne’s CBD including Flinders Street station ballroom, Chinatown, Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the Malthouse theatre. Near Kings Domain there’ll be a food market called Gathering Ground, ensuring no-one goes hungry. Some events will be free and some ticketed.
